Thanks for your interest in the FX university.

In this series of online lessons we will learn more about the Forex market through the design, implementation, and test of mechanical trading systems.

There will be no tuition or payments for this course. The tools and software we will use and learn are freely available on the internet. The Curriculum thread specifies some of the tools and techniques taught.

Curriculum

These are some of the topics to be covered in the FX university sessions:

Learning the workings of FX Trading via:
- Familiarization with the Metatrader platform.
- Familiarization with the Oanda FXGame platform.
Learning about mechanical trading system design:
- Discussion of lectures by trading system authors Charles LeBeau, Nelson Freeburg, and others.
Creating and Analyzing trading systems using the 4XLab.NET platform:
- Design of adaptable and robust systems by using indicators such as ATR and ADX.
- Implementation of indicators needed for our trading systems.
- Implementation of trading systems that use technical analysis indicators as setup conditions, use price action as entry triggers, and have good exit techniques and proper money management tools.

Admissions

Thanks for your interest in the FX University. A few basic prerequisites are required to make the most out of these courses.

Some experience in C, C++, Java, or C# programming. This is the single most important requirement. We will be writing, compiling and debugging code in C#.
The ability to compile and debug code in C#. This will be a practical course and will require using the Development Environment to complete the assignments.
Interest in the financial markets. You do not need to be an expert, if there is something you need to know to complete assignments, it will be taught beforehand.

To satisfy the admission prerequisites, assess yourself by doing the following:

Download the essential resources as recommended in the Tools of our trade thread.
Read the Indicators.cs file. You should comfortably understand most of the code there.
Compile the project. You should be able to place breakpoints in the trading systems and trace a few lines.
